Taok Marbella: What the Town-Centre Club Is Like

Most nightlife talk in Marbella gravitates to Puerto Banús and the Golden Mile, which is why Taok is useful to know about. It's a club in the town centre itself, near the seafront, and it keeps going after the summer venues close for the year. If you're staying in Marbella town and don't fancy a taxi to the port every night, this is the one people end up at.

Where it is

Taok is at Avenida del Mar 3, 29602 Marbella, in the town centre and close to the sea front. That means you can have dinner in the old town or along the seafront and walk over, which is a real advantage in a city where most clubs need a car or a taxi. Getting back is easy too if you're staying centrally.

Some guides still refer to the venue by its previous name: andalucia.com lists it as the former Buddha Marbella. If someone in your group remembers nights at Buddha, it's the same address under a different name.

When it opens

Taok opens Wednesday to Sunday, and it's open now, in October, which puts it in the short list of Marbella clubs that run outside the summer. The venue doesn't publish its exact hours in the sources we checked, so if you're planning around a specific time, message us and we'll confirm for your date. Like most clubs in Spain, it fills up late, so there's no need to arrive at the door early.

The music

On its own site, Taok talks about cutting-edge music and the best DJs, without naming genres. Guides are more specific: Clubbable describes the sound as latin, reggaeton and commercial. That makes Taok a different night from the electronic-leaning places on the Golden Mile. If your group wants songs everyone can sing along to, this is the closer match; if you're after techno or tech house, look elsewhere.

The room and the VIP area

Inside, the venue highlights its bar and signature cocktails, a VIP area, and modern lighting and sound. It's a club rather than a restaurant that turns into a party, so the night is about the floor and the tables from the start. For groups, a table in the VIP area means you have a base for the night and don't have to queue at the bar every round.

Taok doesn't publish table prices in the sources we checked, and we'd rather not quote a number we can't back up. What decides the price at most Marbella clubs is the night, the position of the table and the size of the group, so the quickest route is to tell us those three things and we'll come back with what's available.

Dress code and the door

Taok doesn't publish a dress code in the sources we checked. The generic rule for Marbella works here: smart-casual, proper shoes, no beachwear and no sportswear. Clubbable lists the club as 18+, so bring a DNI, passport or driving licence. On Fridays and Saturdays, being on the list or having a table booked makes the door quicker.

Taok or Puerto Banús?

It depends on where you're staying and what you want to hear. Taok makes sense if you're in the town centre and want a commercial, latin-leaning night within walking distance. If you're already in Puerto Banús, TIBU Banús and Newscafé are both open now and closer to hand. Nothing stops you doing dinner in town and Taok one night, then the port the next.
