Nikki Beach Marbella: What a Day There Is Really Like

· Updated:

Nikki Beach Marbella is the beach club most people have heard of before they even land. It sits on the beachfront of the Hotel Don Carlos in Elviria, east of Marbella town, and it has been part of that stretch of sand since 2003. If you're planning a beach-club day for next summer, this is what it's actually like, who it suits and what to book. One thing first: it's a summer venue and the 2026 season is over or winding down, so read this as planning for 2027.

Is Nikki Beach open now?

Not in the way you'd want. Nikki Beach works on a season. In 2025 it opened on 17 April and ran until October, and 2026 followed a similar pattern, with a summer schedule of Thursday to Sunday, 12:00 to 19:00, for the restaurant, pool and beach posted on its website. Neither the 2026 closing date nor the 2027 opening date has been published. If you're in Marbella this October or over the winter, don't head out to Elviria expecting a party. Plan it for spring or summer 2027 and check the dates once they're out.

What a day there is like

The day starts around midday. You arrive, get shown to your daybed or table, and the first hour is slow: a swim, a drink, lunch. The kitchen is run by executive chef Santiago Zucchi, with a global menu and Mediterranean touches, and the cocktail list leans on Andalusian flavours. As the afternoon goes on, the music gets louder and the place fills up. The point of Nikki Beach is that lunch turns into a party, but it stays a beach day: sun, white linen, a sociable crowd and people dancing next to their beds rather than in a dark room.

The big dates are the themed parties. In 2026, for example, the club held the 23rd-anniversary edition of its Disco del Sol party on Friday 14 August. Those are the days to book furthest ahead.

Who it suits

  • Groups celebrating something: birthdays, hen and stag weekends that would rather have a beach day than a club night.
  • Couples who want a long lunch with a view and some music, without signing up for the full party.
  • People staying on the east side, around Elviria or Los Monteros, who don't fancy crossing town to Puerto Banús.
  • Anyone who already knows the brand: if you've been to a Nikki Beach elsewhere, the formula will feel familiar.

It suits you less if you want a quiet beach with a towel and a book, or if you're on a tight budget. Spending at a beach club climbs fast once there's a daybed, lunch and a couple of bottles involved.

Daybed, table or just lunch?

Nikki Beach doesn't publish fixed daybed prices that we can quote, and minimums change with the day and the event. That's the main reason to ask before you go: a Sunday in August is a very different conversation from a Thursday in May.

How to get there

The address is Playa Hotel Don Carlos, Ctra. de Cádiz km 192, 29604 Marbella. It's in Elviria, on the east side, so from Puerto Banús or the Golden Mile you cross Marbella and carry on along the coast road. A taxi is the easy option, especially as you'll be drinking, and it saves you hunting for parking on a busy summer weekend. If you're staying at the Don Carlos, you just walk down to the beach.

What to wear

Nikki Beach Marbella doesn't publish a strict dress code. The usual look works: swimwear for the daybed, something light over it for lunch, linen or white, and sandals you can walk on sand in. People dress up more on party days, so if you're going to a themed event, make a bit of an effort. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses, because the beds are in the sun for most of the day.

Our honest take

Nikki Beach isn't the cheapest or the most low-key beach club in Marbella, and it doesn't try to be. What it does well is a long, sunny day that turns into a party, run on the same beach for more than twenty years. If that's what you're after, it delivers. Book early for weekends and party days, and don't plan it for the winter.

Still in Marbella this autumn?

The beach clubs are done for the year, but the nights carry on. TIBU in Puerto Banús is open every night, Newscafé on the front line of the port opens seven nights a week, and Momento on the Golden Mile has a Halloween party on Saturday 31 October 2026.
