Marbella Clubs That Closed or Changed Name: What's There Now

· Updated:

Several of the best-known club names in Marbella no longer exist as clubs: Olivia Valere's building is now Bonbonniere, the old Dreamers site at Río Verde is now Fitz, Buddha Marbella became Taok, La Suite's website now redirects to another brand, and Opium Beach lost its club licence. Plenty of online lists still send people to these names, so here's what's at each address in October 2026 and where to go instead.

Olivia Valere became Bonbonniere

The biggest change of 2026. Olivia Valere ran as a club on the Istán road from 1997 to 2025, according to andalucia.com. Mandala Group has leased the building until 2036 and reopened it as Bonbonniere, with the DJ terrace opening on 12 June 2026 and the club on 2 July. The LØV restaurant carries on next door with its own entrance. Bonbonniere is summer-only and returns in 2027.

Dreamers, Cavalli Club and the site that is now Fitz

Few addresses in Marbella have changed name as often as the club at km 175 of the coast road, opposite Puerto Banús at Río Verde. Andalucia.com traces it through Sleek, China Whites and Dreamers, then Cavalli Club, which opened on 21 May 2015 and closed at the end of the 2016 season, and Dreamers again, which reopened quietly on 28 June 2018. Since 2024 the site has been Fitz, refurbished for the new brand and run as a summer club with urban and electronic nights.

Buddha Marbella became Taok

Buddha Marbella, on Avenida del Mar in the town centre, closed under that name in March 2020. The venue now trades as Taok, which opens Wednesday to Sunday and, according to Clubbable, plays mostly Latin, reggaeton and commercial music with an 18+ door. It's one of the few Marbella clubs that keeps going through the winter.

La Suite at Puente Romano

La Suite was Puente Romano's club for years, and some guides still list it as open from Wednesday to Saturday. The current signs point the other way: the old lasuitemarbella.com address now redirects to Chanca by Coya, Clubbable marks Chanca by Coya as closed, and the resort's own nightlife page no longer mentions La Suite. For a late night inside Puente Romano today, the resort promotes NYX, a lounge-club behind a hidden door in GAIA (Wednesday to Saturday, 22:00 to 04:00), and COYA Club (Thursday to Saturday, 21:00 to 04:00).

Opium Beach

Opium Beach, on the N-340 at km 184 by Playa El Pinillo, was a beach club and night venue. In November 2022 Marbella's town hall revoked the restaurant licence it had held since 2014 and suspended the licence for its auditorium. It didn't open for the 2023 summer, and in August 2023 the council granted a building licence for a restaurant without music, for 388 people. Andalucia.com now lists it as closed. If you want a beach club that turns into a party, look at the ones on this site that return next summer, such as Nikki Beach or Ocean Club.

Where to go instead in 2027

  • If you loved Olivia Valere: Bonbonniere in the same building, from summer 2027, or dinner at LØV next door.
  • If you went to Dreamers or Cavalli Club: Fitz, at the same spot on the N-340, open at weekends in autumn 2026.
  • If you knew Buddha in the centre: Taok, same address, open Wednesday to Sunday all year.
  • If La Suite was your Puente Romano night: NYX or COYA Club, both open now.
  • For a big all-year club in Puerto Banús: TIBU or Newscafé.
